Associate Professor Sarah Asada Speaks at the Sixth Stakeholders’ Meeting on Internationalization of Higher Education in Asia and the Pacific with UNESCO
Associate Professor Sarah Asada attended the Sixth Stakeholders’ Meeting on Internationalization of Higher Education in Asia and the Pacific. This important event focused on how universities can help bring about peace and reconciliation in the region. It was held on December 3-4, 2024, Bangkok, Thailand, and organized by UNESCO, The University of Tokyo, and Waseda University.
At the meeting, Dr. Asada gave a presentation called "From Conflict to Connection: The Role of Study Abroad in Peace and Reconciliation." In her talk, she explained how study abroad programs can help people from different countries understand each other better, build friendships, and work together to solve problems. Her ideas sparked great conversations with other attendees and highlighted how international education can create a more peaceful world.
Dr. Asada also met researchers, practicioners, and experts from across the Asia-Pacific region, building connections for future projects and collaborations. She is excited to work with them to continue exploring how universities can make a positive impact on global issues.
